In 2019 and 2020 the Collaborative Network held 15 MPA Community Compliance Forums for each coastal county and “harmful tidepooling” was one of the top compliance concerns mentioned statewide. To support efforts of collaboratives, members, and partners to reduce harmful tidepooling, the Collaborative Network will be pulling together a statewide tidepool working group for anyone interested in connecting across county lines on tidepool topics.
This first meeting will focus on sharing and learning from each other. Attendees will be asked to informally introduce themselves and their program (if applicable) including the geographic focus area, compliance issues faced, successes and challenges.
Future meetings will focus on identifying tidepool sign needs, diving deeper into projects focused on reducing harmful tidepooling, discussing ideas for future projects, potential partner presentations and collaborations, working group logistics, and more.
