Event Details
Join a diverse group of marine protected area (MPA) stakeholders, community members, and ocean stewards in the local area for a meeting consisting of local and statewide MPA updates, networking, discussions, engagement opportunities, and more. The Monterey MPA Collaborative is one of 14 Collaboratives in the MPA Collaborative Network, a statewide “network of networks” working together to steward California’s 124+ MPAs. Collaborative meetings are for anyone who is interested in getting involved with marine resource management at the local level, please help spread the word and encourage involvement among your colleagues and community members!

Please join us for our last general meeting of the year on December 6th from 2-4 pm. The meeting will be HYBRID taking place in person (preferred) at the Gathering Place in the Harrison Memorial Library in Carmel-by-the-Sea and on Zoom (register here). Please accept the calendar invite if you plan to attend in person. - Special Presentation: Chelsea Tu, Executive Director with Monterey Waterkeeper on their work, including the MPAs for All project which is focused on telling the little-known history of how people of Asian descent lived in and used areas of Monterey Bay.
- Round Table Updates and Discussion
4 pm onward – happy hour nearby, we’re looking for location suggestions!
