Event Details

“In recent years California’s landscapes have suffered greatly from catastrophic wildfires, drought, and flooding. To protect and restore our natural landscapes, we don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Tribes have managed California’s lands since time immemorial. Historically however, State government has impeded tribes’ ability to conserve lands and natural resources, and interfered with tribes’ ability to continue traditional lifeways reliant on Indigenous Traditional Knowledge.

Join us for a Secretary Speaker Series that will explore structural challenges that must be addressed to reintegrate longignored Native people in a more inclusive, partnership-driven approach to conserving California’s landscapes. This event will be live-streamed on Zoom.”
