New Associate Scientist at Ocean Science Trust

Hello there! I’m a new Associate Scientist at the Ocean Science Trust and am writing to introduce myself to the OceanSpaces community. I grew up in Humboldt County but have since studied and worked on themes related to fisheries management and marine protected areas in Southeast Asia, Latin America, U.S. West Coast, and the Pacific Islands. After earning a BS in biology from UC Davis, I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Latin America and then went on to earn a PhD in Environmental Anthropology from the University of Washington. I’m excited to be back in California and working with you all towards a healthier coast and ocean. I look forward to getting to know you through upcoming projects related to climate and fisheries as well as MPA science and monitoring. At the Western Society of Naturalists Annual Meeting in November, I gave a talk entitled “Integrating natural and social sciences to inform marine ecosystem-based management” and am interested in exploring these themes with you.
